Jennifer Carroll (born August 27, 1959) is a Trinidadian-born American politician who is the 18th and current Lieutenant Governor of the U.S. state of Florida. The first African American and the first woman elected to the position, she assumed the office on January 4, 2011. Carroll previously served in the Florida House of Representatives from 2003 until 2010.
Carroll was born in Port of Spain, Trinidad and Tobago. She moved to the United States at the age of eight. Two years after graduating from Uniondale High School in New York state, she enlisted in the U.S. Navy in 1979. After serving as an Aviation Machinist Mate (Jet Mechanic), she was selected for Enlisted Commissioning Program, becoming an Aviation Maintenance Officer in 1985. She retired from the Navy in 1999 as a Lieutenant Commander. In 1981, she received an Associate of Arts degree from Leeward Community College. She followed this in 1985 with a Bachelor of Arts in political science from the University of New Mexico. She moved to Florida in 1986. She received a Master of Business Administration degree from unaccredited online diploma mill Kensington University in 1995, and then earned another Master of Business Administration degree online from St. Leo University in 2008.

Peter Bailey is an American author and journalist. Originally from Saint Thomas, U.S. Virgin Islands, Bailey is well known for his gritty, but yet inspirational profile stories on unsung heroes in Miami‘s impoverished inner city. Bailey graduated from the University of Delaware with a degree in English with a concentration in journalism. Upon graduation, he went on to write for Newsweek then Time magazine. His reporting landed him interviews with major figures including former President Bill Clinton, Guyana President Bharrat Jagdeo, New York Mayor Michael Bloomberg and recording executive Russell Simmons. Bailey wrote a New Times Best Seller, “Magic City: Trials of a Native Son” which was published by MTV Books/Pocket Books and was released on November 16, 2010. Since January of 2011, Bailey is the host of NBC Nite Cap on NBC 6 Miami.
Vernon Brooks desire to maintain Caribbean culture and support community youth, motivated him to create the Mocko Jumbie Youth Stilt Dancers 16 years ago. Today, he shares his talent with young people from all nationalities, whom are interested in learning to stilt dance.
