The 32nd annual UNCF Mayor’s Masked Ball is one of metropolitan Atlanta’s signature fundraising galas and premier social events of the holiday season. Started 32 years ago by former Atlanta Mayor and U.N. Ambassador Andrew Young and Billye S. Aaron, the ball is hosted each year by the city’s current mayor. This year’s key sponsors include the Coca-Cola Co., Delta Air Lines and UPS. It’s purpose is to involve celebrities, dignitaries, civic leaders, volunteers, public officials and other supporters in the annual local unrestricted fundraising activities of UNCF.
“I am pleased that the annual Mayor’s Masked Ball will once again help fund the education of thousands of deserving students matriculating at the Atlanta University Center,” Mayor Kasim Reed said.
The has established a goal of $2 million to support our 37 UNCF member colleges and universities, four of which are right here in Atlanta, ” said Justine Boyd, UNCF’s regional development director.
